Hamish Ivison is a PhD student at the University of Washington, advised by Hannaneh Hajishirzi, and a part-time researcher at Ai2. His research focuses on post-training methods and data selection for language models, with an emphasis on fully open-source recipes. He is a lead author of the Tülu model series and a core post-training contributor to the OLMo series, including popularizing RLVR training for improving language model capabilities. Before entering NLP, he studied Ancient Greek at the University of Sydney.
